Listening to: Yves Tumor - …Secrecy is Incredibly Important to the Both of Them
wouldn’t it be incredible to make art like Yves Tumor?! It’s kind of wanky adding a ‘listening to’ isn’t it? I wanted to include it in these because I always had it in my teenage diaries and in fairness it is nice looking back, adds another dimension jakno. Although even then I had the same problem I do now with diaries - feeling like I’m performing for an audience so not being truly authentic. But I think in general the music was honest. When I was a teenager I was obsessed with reading diaries of famous people and non-famous wild child folk. As long as there was a mere allusion to drugs or sex I would gobble it up, and I was writing how I wanted to be perceived, fully assuming the diaries would be “leaked” and published or something rofl. One of my first email addresses had Pete Doherty’s prison number in it after I read a book on him LOL. LL5217 if you’re wondering.
I stole Go Ask Alice from Laurel and read it about 579 times. Just listened to a podcast the other day about the Satanic Panic or something and turns out it was all a hoax, written to deter kids from taking drugs. Boy did it do the opposite, I fantasised about life in San Francisco in the 70s.
In January we minded my Aunt’s cat in Brixton for 2 weeks which was gorj. Caught up with all the London Irish contingent, of which there are loads at the mo. Like a home away from home.
Read the entries for more info, tho tbh I didn’t do a great job of documenting it. It was sunny and cold and Agent K is a very charming host, so charming he earned himself the title Mr. Charms. I drew a pic of him looking like a Guinea pig.
I am very spent on energy so this is all for now. Check in soon with some February updates. Oh, speaking of music - I made this LDN PLAYLIST for listening to on buses and trains when you are in London in case you need it.
Lots of love, mwah.
